Atlanta’s police force is working nonstop to find the thieves who broke into a convenience shop early on Friday morning and fled with a sizable safe.
An alarm on the gas station owner’s phone at 2:30 a.m. signaled a burglary in progress, leading to what appeared to be a planned break-in, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
The thieves used a crowbar to break through the store’s security measures and tried to crack open the ATM. Security cameras caught their heinous conduct.
A 600-pound safe was taken by the robbers, who used a Pepsi rolling cart to do the heavy lifting even though they were unable to take any cash out of the ATM.
As Sunny Tucker, the business owner, put it to FOX 5 Atlanta, “It was like something out of ‘Mission Impossible,'” The experience bore similarities to a Hollywood heist movie.
The four people who broke in were identified by the Atlanta Police Department as they stepped up their search for the suspects, according to Atlanta News First. They are carefully going through the video evidence.
At least two individuals are captured on camera committing the heinous deed, according to a police investigation into the location of a white Dodge pickup truck.
Tucker bears the loss with optimism; the setback doesn’t depress him. “I am not discouraged by something that is merely superficial,” he said to FOX 5 Atlanta. I will not give up. Just a hiccup in the journey.” Atlanta Police are pleading for anyone who has information regarding the theft to come forward as the investigation continues.
