Oh my, sloths, lions, and tigers! Discover magnificent animals from all around the world while taking a wild walk at Ohio’s exotic wildlife sanctuary. A few sanctuaries that are worth seeing are as follows:
The Lost Ark Animal Park by Noah
“Every animal has a name and rescue story unique to them,” according to Noah’s Lost Ark, which is tucked away in Berlin Center. Abused and abandoned exotic animals can find a home at the refuge.
It offers a secure environment in which to spend the rest of their lives, and it is one of the few sanctuaries with federal and state licenses that conducts informative tours with guides. From May 15 to October 31, Noah’s Lost Ark is open for visitors.
Idle-Hour Ranch
You can discover “wildlife, agriculture, and the overall importance of farmland conservation” at the entertaining Idle-Hour Ranch. You’ll come within striking distance of more than 150 animals, including wallabies, kangaroos, and cougars.
Without feeding the animals, a visit to the ranch is not complete. Experiencing camel rides and seeing sloths enhance the whole package. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from June through October is Idle Hour.
Lagoon Deer Park
Put on your walking shoes and explore Lagoon Deer Park with over 200 animals. You may feed them by hand, and they will follow you around.
There is enjoyable fishing in the park as well. For northern pike, perch, bluegill, and other species, cast a line. Bring your bait and poles, don’t forget. Seasons affect the Lagoon Deer Park. Await the announcement of the dates for 2024.
Clasps and Paws Animal Contact
To defend exotic animals, Paws and Claws opened in 2018. The only USDA-licensed facility in the nation to provide painting with otters, this unusual site is situated at the entrance to the Hocking Hills. You bring the imagination, and the sanctuary supplies the paint and canvases.
Wear outdated clothing, please. “Painting people as well as the canvases,” is what the endearing otters love to do. Explore the farm after having some fun painting and feeding the yaks, baby cows, and Toby, the “nosy and affectionate” camel. Only by appointment is Paws & Claws open.
