It’s possible that you would love living on the prairie, or you might need a Target close in order to stay alive. (And yes, Wyoming does have three of them.) Cheyenne
Cheyenne, the main city of Wyoming, is first on our list. Cheyenne is just north of the Colorado state line, which means it’s close to some great places to ski and bike. It has a full-service airport and the Wyoming State Museum.
Life in Cheyenne costs 5% less than in the rest of the country, and it only takes two hours to get there from Denver. That means it would take you a short car ride in the afternoon to watch the Broncos, Nuggets, or Rockies.
Riverton
Riverton is a very small city in the middle of Wyoming. It has less than 11,000 people living in it, and housing is very cheap. Now, because Riverton isn’t very big, there isn’t a lot of business going on and job openings aren’t exactly plentiful. Cody

The best thing about living in Cody might be how close it is to Yellowstone National Park’s East Entrance—only 55 miles. That means people who live in Cody can quickly get to one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.
Laramie
There are more great places to live in Wyoming. The University of Wyoming is in Laramie, which is next on the list. UW is the only four-year college in the state, so football and basketball games are very important. If you want to see the Division I Cowboys play, make sure you get your seats early.
Laramie has a lot of interesting shops and restaurants because it is a college town. Many young people like living in Laramie, and the cost of living is pretty low. If you can handle the odd snowstorm in the winter, it’s a great place to live.
Casper
Next is Casper. With almost 60,000 people, Casper is one of Wyoming’s biggest towns, just like Cheyenne. Because Casper is close to the middle of Wyoming, you can drive pretty much anywhere in the state in a few hours. Or, if you want to go on a really cool trip outside of Wyoming, Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado is just over four hours away.
