A 27-year-old man has been detained by Texas police on suspicion of being involved in the disappearance of a 12-year-old Houston girl who was missing eight days before being discovered safe.
The Columbus (Texas) Police Department states that Sirterryon Preston of Houston was charged with eluding officials after he made an effort to escape from them on Friday. Around noon on Friday, police discovered that the girl was in Columbus, according to The Associated Press.
After the girl was last seen on video doorbell surveillance on February 22 climbing into a pickup truck close to her home at around two in the morning, the Houston Police Department released a notice to the public about her disappearance, as reported by KHOU.
