BREAKING FAST! Savannah Shooting Leaves 11 People Injured, Authorities Investigate

CCG – Authorities in Savannah, Georgia, are looking into a shooting that happened on Saturday night in the downtown section of the city and left eleven people injured.

The shooting started in Ellis Square, a mainstay of Savannah’s historic area and a well-liked tourist destination, shortly before midnight. The Savannah Police Department said in a press release on Sunday morning that several precincts were dispatched at 11:55 p.m. in response to reports of gunfire in the vicinity.

Detectives had interviewed witnesses as part of their continuing investigation at the time, and they were still looking into the event. In this case, Savannah police have not named any suspects or made any arrest announcements.

All victims of the incident, including those with gunshot wounds, are adults, the police department said, and several were taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center from the site.

The type and severity of those wounds were not disclosed by the police, but they did state in a news release on Sunday that “as of now, no deaths have occurred because of the incident.”

They said to CBS station WTOC that the shooting was thought to have injured at least ten persons. The 11 individuals underwent care for their wounds last night, and according to the authorities, none of them were life-threatening, as WTOC reported.
