Progress in Chyna Crawford Investigation Woman Arrested, DC Police Report

DC News Now (Washington) — A lady was detained by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) about a woman who went missing in Southwest Washington, D.C.

According to MPD, Chyna Crawford, 25, of Southwest, D.C., was reported missing on October 26, 2023. On October 23, 2023, at around 10 p.m., Crawford was last seen in the 4000 block of South Capitol St. SW.

Her family expressed their concerns for her safety to DC News Now back in November. Elisa Crawford, her mother, commented at the time that her daughter’s silence was unusual.

In November, Elisa Crawford told DC News Now, “It’s the hardest thing I think I’ve ever had to deal with in my life.” “That’s my friend, too, not just my daughter.”

Police concluded that there was something odd about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

According to MPD, a bench warrant for the arrest of Lashawn Washington, 32, of Southeast, has been issued by the D.C. Superior Court after she was indicted on multiple crimes.

Washington was apprehended by police on March 26. She is accused of First Degree Murder—Felony Murder, Kidnapping, and Obstructing the Course of Justice.
