Chicago Robbery Victims Four Shot Since Thursday, Latest Incident on Sunday Afternoon

According to Chicago police, a lady was shot on Sunday afternoon during a robbery in the North Lawndale neighborhood. This makes her at least the fourth victim of armed robbery since Thursday night. In Austin, Logan Square, and Rogers Park, there have been more shooting victims.

(Update: On Monday morning, a fifth robbery victim was shot.)

At 1:10 p.m., three guys, at least one of whom was armed, approached the 19-year-old in the 3900 block of West 21st Street. According to CPD, after they demanded her belongings, one of them opened fire, hitting the woman in the torso. Her health was critical when she was brought to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

After taking the woman’s goods, the three bandits fled west, according to the police. Three Black males were identified by an officer who studied the surveillance film. One was dressed entirely in black, including shoes, the other in all black, including shoes, and the third was dressed in a black top and red pants.

In the 200 block of North Latrobe on Saturday night, an armed carjacker climbed into the rear seat of an Uber driver, 49, and fired shots, according to police.

At around 9:01 p.m., the hijacker got into the Toyota Camry and told the victim to get out of the car because he had stopped to pick up a passenger.

Even though the rideshare driver was following the carjacker’s instructions, the victim was shot in the knee, according to the authorities.

Around 3:43 a.m. on Saturday, a robbery in Logan Square resulted in the shooting of a 40-year-old man. According to the police, the man was shot by a bunch of thieves while they were robbing him and a woman in the 3600 block of West Cortland. She was 51. One of the robbers shot the male victim in the knee after stealing the woman’s possessions. After being brought to Stroger Hospital, he is doing well.

On Thursday night on the Far North Side, there was another victim of robbery who was shot. At around 9:04 p.m., the robber approached a 24-year-old guy and his 28-year-old girlfriend who were strolling in the 7200 block of North Ridge. The male victim was hit in the hand by the gunshot that occurred as he attempted to seize the offender’s pistol, according to Chicago police. The thief left after taking the two victims’ wallets.

None of the shooting suspects’ descriptions were made public by the police. Officers who spoke with the victims on Thursday, however, identified the gunman as a 5’8 Hispanic man with a hefty build. He may have had a tiger or lion tattooed on his left forearm in addition to wearing a face mask.
