Close Call Man Shot in Face Near Airport, But Expected to Make Full Recovery

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – After being shot in the face on Sunday night in east Columbus, a guy is thought to be alive.
A man who reported to authorities he was shot in the 3200 block of East 6th Avenue in East Columbus, close to the John Glenn Columbus International Airport, was located along East 5th Avenue, according to Columbus police.

After a car he and others were in was shot into, the victim reportedly pulled down police at about 11:30 p.m. close to the intersection of East 5th Ave. and Alton Avenue.

While the car was driving away, police were able to locate the shooting and connect it to East 6th Ave. However, no suspects or information about what may have caused the shooting is available.

The victim had a gunshot wound to the face and was sent to a nearby hospital. His status is classified as stable, and survival is anticipated.
