Cincinnati’s downtown has welcomed the opening of a new restaurant. Pata Roja Taqueria began as a food truck and now has a new brick-and-mortar establishment at 52 E Court St. in Cincinnati. The new eatery debuted earlier this month, based on this social media post from the establishment.
Tacos are on the menu, naturally. Al pastor (marinated pork and pineapple), pollo (grilled chicken), Campeche (chorizo, pork shoulder, and brisket), and sweet potato are among the toppings for tacos. The restaurant also serves loaded tortas, which are stuffed with cheese, guacamole, crema pico de gallo, bean puree, cilantro, and your choice of protein.
Additionally, patrons can order salsas such as crema Mexicana, which has cilantro, lime, and chile de arbol, and pata roja Verde, which contains tomatillo, tomato, onion, and chile, and chile de arbol.
Pata Roja Taqueria serves house-made guacamole, pico de gallo, and seasoned chips as sides. The restaurant serves churros as a little dessert if you have room.
The restaurant offers Mexican Coke, cucumber lemonade, and agua de Jamaica if you’re looking for something to drink.

I’m really happy that Cincinnati has a taqueria that offers incredibly authentic Birria tostadas for street food. It’s as delicious as the ones I had when strolling through Puerto Vallarta. Their brigade is crunchy, and you must dip it in the delicious sauce. Those extra calories are worthwhile. I also had their Al Pastor, which had just the right amount of sweetness from the pineapple and was flavorful with a hint of acidity.
The assistance was prompt and accurate. The only thing I regret is that, despite being full, I did not get an additional three tacos. For those searching for a real street taco experience, I heartily suggest this location.
