Sheriff's Office Seeks Leads on Deadly Shooting at Jeep Weekend in Galveston County

CCG – The Texas island of Bolivar Peninsula Detectives with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office are looking for information on a fatal gunshot that happened at Crystal Beach over Jeep Weekend.

The gunshot that took place on May 19 at around one in the morning near Beach Barrel #75 near Kahla Drive and Gulf Shores Drive is being looked into by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Troy Lacour Jr., 33, of Galveston, was the victim’s identity as determined by the GCSO.

Sheriff Trochesset said that when emergency personnel came, Lacour was discovered to be dead, and that another victim needed to be flown urgently to the hospital.

In a different shooting, a person’s head was slightly hit by a bullet. Following that incident, one person was placed under arrest.

Sheriff Trochesset claims that these shootings are a part of a worrying pattern that police have noticed throughout the yearly event.

Investigators are searching for any surveillance footage of the area taken on May 19 between 12:30 and 2:30 a.m.
